The Irish Farmers Association has said Ireland's standing and influence in Europe will be damaged by a rejection of the EU Fiscal Stability Treaty.

The IFA and a number of agri-food sector businesses, including Glanbia, are among the latest groups to advocate a 'Yes' vote in the referendum on May 31.

They said: "Ratifying the treaty is in the best interest of farm families and the agri-food community as well as a key element in our economic recovery."
