The motor yacht Air, one of the world’s biggest private charter yachts, was sheltering near the Spit Bank Lighthouse this morning. It is situated less than a kilometre from Cobh. It is not known who is on board the yacht, which is due to come and dock at Custom House Quay in the near future.
The Air is 81 metres long and has a swimming pool, gym, massage room, jacuzzi and steam room. An elevator provides access to all decks while the yacht is also fitted out with a helicopter landing pad which can accommodate a commercial helicopter. It also has a hospitality bar, projector screen for movies, and a 103-inch TV. There is accommodations for 12 guests in seven bedrooms, including a split-level master suite. The yacht also has an extensive inventory of watertoys onboard, including sailing dinghies, sea kayaks, a jet ski, scuba gear and snorkel equipment.
