The man stabbed with a broken bottle in Hollyhill has spoken briefly to investigating gardaí. The man was rushed to hospital on Monday evening after losing a large amount of blood when he was stabbed in the neck on Hollyhill Lane. The 31-year-old victim from nearby Ardcullen managed to speak to gardaí yesterday afternoon, after medical staff at the Cork University Hospital managed to stabilise his condition. When he arrived at the hospital on Monday evening, he was unconscious and spent several hours in surgery. Nobody has been arrested in connection with the daylight attack and gardaí were still trying to determine the motive for the assault today. CCTV footage from businesses in the Hollyhill area was being examined and door to door enquiries have been carried out. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gurranabraher gardaí on (021) 4946200.
