Three people are in hospital in Co Louth after a road accident in Co Monaghan last night.
It happened after the vehicle they were travelling in hit a tree at Mahercross on the Carrickmacross to Drumconrath road at around 10.40pm.
All three were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment, where one male is said to be in a serious condition.
The road has been closed for a technical examination.
