John Joe Nevin is in buoyant mood ahead of his next Olympics bout against Kazakhstani fighter Kanat Abutalipov in the last 16.

The bantamweight boxer said: "I probably get a bit too cocky for me own good sometimes, but sure that's typical me, you know?"

The Mullingar pugilist said the fact that he won every round gave him more confidence.

"Every fight is tough, no matter what, but you've to just deal with it," No-one else is going to deal with them only you, so go in and do your business.

"I'm confident. If I'm performing, I can beat anyone. "
