Emergency services are at the scene of a fire at an oil deport on the Kilmacow to Waterford road in Kilkenny.
An oil truck is believed to have caught fire shortly before midday.
A one-kilometre exclusion zone has been set up in the area, as emergency services work to bring the blaze under control.
Poor visibility is being reported on the Dublin to Cork motorway as a result and motorists are asked not to use the Mullinavat exit until further notice.
Rail services are now running only between Heuston Station and Kilkenny, with a bus service in place between Kilkenny and Waterford.
Road closures and suspended rail services will be in place until at least lunchtime tomorrow, due to the risk of an explosion.
