Sligo Rovers 4 Drogheda United 1

Sligo Rovers burst Drogheda's bubble with an impressive win at the Showgrounds to move four points clear at the top of the Premier Division table.

In-form Drogheda may have taken twice as many points as Sligo in winning their previous six games, but it was the league leaders who drew first blood with the lead goal on ten minutes.

Seamus Conneely did well on the left to pick out Mark Quigley with the cross and the striker shot past Gabriel Sava for his fourth goal in three league games.

Impressive midfielder Conneely doubled dominant Sligo's lead three minutes before the break. Keeper Sava spilled a shot from Romauld Boco and Conneely followed up to scoop home the rebound.

Boco all but sealed the win on the hour mark when getting on the end of Joseph Ndo's cross to head past Sava.

Peter Hynes got a goal back fore Drogheda on 75 minutes. But Sligo had the final word with Ndo restoring their three goal lead five minutes later.
