IS IT the allure of times gone by, the classic femininity, or the iconic beauty that keeps us looking back to the past for inspiration?
From Marilyn Monroe to Rita Hayworth, both of whom epitomise their eras, we can’t seem to get enough of the timeless make-up  and fashion styles.
The Forties and Fifties  may be the most memorable, the most iconic of all time periods — beauty-wise that is! Time and time again we see the statement red lip and the infamous black flick of the liner. Today’s make-up trends may have changed with lipsticks now in varied colours from pinks and purples to oranges and even blues but this cult product still remains a staple in every woman’s handbag, a symbol of femininity and beauty.
Veronica Lake, Elizabeth Taylor and Lana Turner are  just a few of the heroines of the past that  helped to make the style a favourite with beauty lovers worldwide.
Seen time and time again in most beauty and fashion houses such as Dior and Dolce & Gabbana, this  look is as popular as ever, it may be a more subtle adaptation at times but inspired none the less.
In keeping with this,  infamous trend I decided to organise a vintage inspired photoshoot in Midleton…
