Kilworth              2 – 21
Harbour Rovers  1 -  8
An evenly balanced Kilworth side proved far too crafty for Harbour Rovers in the Barnes Jewellers Fermoy Under 21 AHC at Fermoy last evening. The opening sequences saw Kilworth quick to set out their intentions with Eoin Condon, Michael Wade and Noel McNamara having a point each while a good movement started by impressive centre back Kieran Lane resulted in Aidan Condon getting through for a goal that moved the winners into a 1-3 to no score lead by the 8th minute. As the half progressed Harbour Rovers came more into the equation. Eugene Rice recorded their first score in the 12th minute that was quickly followed with a point apiece by David Pyne and Thomas Condon that narrowed the deficit to 1-4 to 0-3 by the 18th minute. However, throughout the game Kilworth continued to set the pace and were denied two goal scoring chances in the run up to the break when the Rovers keeper David O’Sullivan made two fine saves from Aidan Condon and Noel McNamara on two separate occasions. Nathan Byrne and Thomas Condon traded a point before Michael Wade completed the first half scoring with a pointed ’65′ that had the winners ahead at the break by 1-6 to 0-4. On the restart Kilworth were again quick off the mark with Kieran Lane, Eoin Condon, Liam Whelan, Nathan Byrne, Will Condon and Michael O’Callaghan excelling and five points in quick succession moved them into a commanding 1-11 to 0-4 lead by the 35th minute. Harbour Rovers battled back well but during this half they were mainly restricted to a number of long range points. Nevertheless in  the 47th minute they received a lifeline when Shane O’Riordan finished a free by David Pyne to the net 1-13 to
1-8. However in the last quarter the better equipped Kilworth outfit grew in stature adding three points in as many minutes by Will Condon, Liam Whelan and Noel McNamara before Aidan Condon was on hand to score his second goal in the 55th minute that moved them 2-16 to 1-8 ahead. It was all Kilworth in the closing moments with Will Condon, (2) Noel McNamara, Liam Whelan and Eoin Condon tagging on points that set them on their way to a convincing victory.
