A Ryanair flight from Cork to Portugal was delayed for three hours last night after the plane was struck by a baggage truck.
The incident occurred at approximately 8.30pm just prior to the scheduled flight to Faro.
The truck made contact with the plane and as a result the level of damage had to be assessed by an engineer.
Passengers on the flight had to be taken off the plane and put on a different Ryanair aircraft which departed Cork at 11.35pm.
Officials at Cork Airport described the incident as very minor but said all such impacts had to be examined carefully for safety reasons.
Such incidents must also be reported to the Air Accident Investigation Unit.
The plane was examined by an engineer and was later given clearance to fly.
It was used for the scheduled 8.05am flight to London Stanstead this morning.
