St Finbarr’s 2-11
St Michael’s 1-9

John Coughlan

THE BATTLE of the Saints proved to be an intense battle from start to finish with St Finbarr’s coming from a five-point interval deficit to book a semi-final place in the Rebel Óg Premier 1 Minor Football Championship at CIT last night.
In a game of twist and turns, the Barrs’ tremendous second-half revival had their supporters in rapture as the Blackrock side succumbed under pressure.

This was a game that saw the Barrs looking the dominant force in the opening 10 minutes only for their opponents to bounce back with some quality football.

Not many pundits could have foreseen predicted this scorelineresult at the break, but one notable substitute by the Barrs saw them introduce Eoghan Comyns for brother Dara and his intensity helped them overrun Michael’s when the game hung in the balance.

See today’s Evening Echo for full report.
