Andy Carroll has pulled out of England's opening World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.

The West Ham loan signing suffered a hamstring injury during an impressive debut in his side's 3-0 win over Fulham this afternoon.

Manager Sam Allardyce said after the game it was unlikely Carroll would be able to join up with the England squad.

The FA have confirmed that this evening, although no decision will be made about replacements until after tomorrow's three Barclays Premier League games have been played.
