RONAN O’GARA today spoke movingly of how honoured he feels at being presented with an Honorary Doctorate by his alma mater UCC.
The Munster and Ireland legend was one of five recipients to be feted by the university and he
reflected on how his time in UCC shaped him as a player and a person and prepared him for the life he is leading.
“I am enormously grateful to UCC for this honour,” said O’Gara.
Other recipients at today’s event were Mary O’Connor (football and camogie), Denis Irwin (soccer), Brian Cody (hurling) and Aidan O’Brien (horse racing).
