PEOPLE claiming to be collecting the household charge on behalf of Cork County Council have been targeting homes.
The council said it wishes to advise householders that no council officials have been deployed to collect the charge door-to-door  and that money should not be handed over.
If anyone presents themselves purporting to collect the charge, gardaí should be contacted immediately — even if they show identification.
