THE women of Cork turned out in their thousands to support struggling charities yesterday.
Some 10,000 runners, walkers and joggers took part in yesterday’s 31st Evening Echo Women’s Mini-Marathon and raised at least 2m for charities and individuals suffering because of the recession.
Sisters were, genuinely, doing it for themselves at the annual event — taking things into their own hands to ensure the excellent work being done in Cork and throughout the country by charities can continue.
And others ensured that the plights of individual sick children and adults requiring life-saving treatment could be improved by raising much- needed funds for them.
See today’s Evening Echo, and all this week for more photos.
