Irish taxis are getting a makeover - from next January, they will carry new branding signs on the front doors of their vehicles.

It is just one of a range of measures on the way, aimed at reducing the number of rogue operators.

Taxi drivers will also be subject to a new penalty point system, and could lose their licences or face fines for breaching regulations.
