Allianz Football League Division 1 champions Cork will face Dublin on the opening night of next year's competition, following the release of the draft fixtures list today.
The floodlit encounter on Saturday, February 2 will be Jim Gavin's first league game as manager of the Dubs and an ideal marker of their early season form.
Cork's own boss Conor Counihan, who guided them to their third league title in as many years last April, has just accepted another two-year managerial term.
Newly-crowned All-Ireland champions Donegal have a trip to Kildare the following day for their Division 1 opener, while Eamonn Fitzmaurice's league bow as Kerry boss sees them travelling to 2012 runners-up Mayo.
The opening round in the top flight is completed by an Ulster derby between Down and a Tyrone side that topped the Division 2 table with seven straight wins last season.
Meanwhile, in Division 2, Laois and Armagh will clash in a Saturday night opener next February having both suffered relegation in 2012.
Longford and Wexford, the promoted sides from Division 3, will meet each other the following afternoon, as will Monaghan and Meath in the third tier - two of the counties with new managers on board, in this case Malachy O'Rourke and Mick O'Dowd.
The league phase will be run off over seven weekends, concluding on Sunday, April 7 when Mayo take on Cork in a repeat of last season's Division 1 decider.
The games are only provisionally in place at present and dates, venues and throw-in times are subject to change.
