Trade union leaders have described as "positive" a meeting with the government to discuss new savings under the terms of the Croke Park deal.
However both unions and the government have said no numerical targets have been set for the savings to be achieved.
The Taoiseach met with unions and managers today and asked them to implement savings in a range of areas.
Shay Cody from IMPACT said the aim of the discussions is to make clear savings before the budget in December.
