Cork-based firm to merge with US parent

A Cork-based company is to merge its US operations with the parent company of US destruction services firm DataKillers in a deal that could see company revenue rise above €50 million within the next two years.

WiseTek, which specialises in the recycling and repurposing of used hardware, have their headquarters in Little Island.

The company, which celebrated its tenth year, also have offices in Dublin, Texas and Thailand and recently opened an office in Dubai.

“We’ve been expanding steadily and this latest expansion will see us become more prominent on the US and global market,” said WiseTek owner Sean Sheehan.

“The States is where everything is happening and it’s where all the decision makers are, even for Europe and Asia, so it’s important to have a strong presence there to ensure we provide a global solution.”

Mr Sheehan also hinted at further development stating the company is hoping for even “more interesting times this time next year.” Leaders in the Circular Economy, Wisetek prioritise the recovery of IT components, either for reuse within their client's operations or for remarketing to a global network of buyers through http://Wisetekmarket.com

DataKillers and WiseTek now operate the largest fleet of mobile data destruction trucks across the US, providing customers with national coverage for IT removal services and on-site data destruction.

However, main operations will be devised from Cork with WiseTek keen to remain in Little Island.

“Everything International will be done out of Cork,” ensured Mr Sheehan.

“Our headquarters will always be in Cork and we have an Irish based board,” he added.
