A Christmas tradition for Cork households for decades. The Holly Bough goes on sale in November and is a permanent fixture in homes throughout the county.

Packed with history, stories and nostalgia the Holly Bough is posted all over the world reaching the Cork diaspora in every part of the globe.

Reporter Sarah Horgan and photographer Dan Linehan headed to the English Market to speak to the people of Cork about their memories of Christmas and the Holly Bough.
