Bishops to deliver letter from abuse victims to Pope

Catholic Bishops have told survivors of institutional child abuse that they will personally deliver a letter from them to the Pope.

Four survivors' groups met four senior clergymen in Maynooth, Co Kildare today.

They are calling on the Vatican to contribute financially to the redress scheme.

Today's meeting is part of a process of engagement between the church and survivors' groups following the Ryan Report.
