 Rain affecting many roads 11/19/2009 - 9:19:22 AM Heavy rain is causing havoc on many of the country's roads this morning. Counties Galway, Kerry, Leitrim, Longford and Clare appear to have been worst affected. Many of the main commuter routes are partially waterlogged, as well as minor roads and thousands of acres of farmlands. Further heavy downpours have been forecast for today and motorists are being urged to drive with care. More heavy rain is on the way. Some motorists have become trapped after driving into floodwaters. Over an inch of rain has fallen since midnight in Valencia - with forecasters predicting the same amount again before the weather clears. |
