 Another chapter of child abuse report not to be published 11/19/2009 - 4:39:55 PM The High Court has decided further sections of the Commission's report into sexual abuse by priests in the Dublin Archdiocese should not be published. Mr Justice Paul Gilligan has ruled that parts of the report, including the controversial Chapter 20, could prejudice criminal proceedings against one man. Last month he ruled out the publication of chapter 19 of the report which was commissioned to look at the Catholic hierarchy's handling of abuse allegations in the Dublin archdiocese between 1975 and 2004. Chapter 20 is understood to be highly critical of An Garda Síochána, and of other State authorities, for their handling of clerical child abuse allegations. |
