 Islamic militia protest 08/10/2006 - 16:49:27 Protesters in a key Somali port held a second day of demonstrations against a local administration set up by the Islamic militia that has seized control of much of the country’s south. Hundreds of protesters gathered in Kismayo, the country’s third largest city, to complain that the administration was made up largely of outsiders. The Islamists, who control the capital and much of southern Somalia, took the port without a fight on September 24. |
