Ryanair implement new safety measures after stairs collapse 7/8/2010 - 2:29:14 PM Ryanair has implemented a number of new safety recommendations after a mobile stairs used for passengers to disembark collapsed at Dublin Airport. The incident happened on the afternoon of June 27 last, after the Boeing 737 aircraft landed from the Polish city of Krakow. A report by the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) found that as the first passengers emerged onto the rear steps, they partially collapsed, causing serious injuries to the leg of one of them. Tests later identified a problem with the stairs in question. Ryanair said it has "already complied with the recommendations in the AAIU’s preliminary report to ensure that this extremely rare incident will never recur”. |
