 Campaigners welcome Fr Bermingham resignation 6/27/2010 - 11:02:10 AM Clerical abuse campaigners have welcomed the resignation of Fr Bill Bermingham from his position as child protection delegate in the Diocese of Cloyne. He resigned yesterday evening, saying despite his best intentions, he had lost the confidence of abuse victims. It follows reports that Fr Bermingham mishandled an allegation of abuse when he gave the victim's statement to the priest implicated in the complaint. |
