Varadkar defends donations from NAMA developers 7/22/2010 - 8:44:21 AM ![]() Fine Gael's communications spokesman Leo Varadkar has defended his party's decision to take corporate donations from developers linked to NAMA. And he's distanced himself from the criticisms of his colleague Lucinda Creighton who claimed the party was involved in "cute-hoor" politics. Speaking at the MacGill Summer School in Glenties last night, Mr Varadkar said it was wrong to assume that someone who owes money to NAMA has done anything wrong. "There are at least 300 people who are paying their loans back (to NAMA), so I don't think it's right to assume that anyone who has any association with NAMA is some sort of criminal." |
