 'Infiltrator' shot dead by Israeli troops 6/16/2010 - 8:43:09 AM Israeli security officials said troops fired at unidentified infiltrators after they crossed the border from Egypt, fatally shooting one of them. The officials said troops saw a group of men crossing the Sinai's porous border with Israel before dawn today and fired on one of them after spotting an unspecified weapon. The officials said the infiltrators dropped a package before fleeing back into Egypt, taking with them the shot man. They insist the man is dead but it is unclear how they know this. The content of the package was not immediately known, and it is not clear whether the men had intended to attack Israel or were ferrying contraband goods. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity pending an official military announcement. |
