Economy now out of recession - but not at domestic level 6/29/2010 - 7:15:44 AM ![]() The Irish economy has now technically emerged from recession. In its latest quarterly economic outlook, Friends First predicts that growth will gradually pick up in the second half of the year and into 2011. The outlook warns that this emergence from recession will not be felt at a consumer level and very tough policy decisions will have to continue to get the economy back on track. Friends First says the current improvement is being driven by the multi-national sector and real recovery needs to be driven by domestic demand. Consumers are however more confident about the economy, with a growing number optimistic that Ireland will return to positive growth by the end of next year. |
