 Elderly pedestrian dies after collision with truck 6/26/2010 - 4:27:50 PM A woman in her eighties has died after she was hit by a truck in Clane, Co Kildare. The elderly pedestrian was crossing the road in Clane at a 10.45am today when she was struck by an articulated lorry. She was taken to Naas General Hospital where she died of her injuries shortly after. The lorry driver, a man in his 30s, was also taken to Naas Hospital where he is being treated for shock. The junction of Prosperous Road and Main Street has been forensically examined and has reopened. Elsewhere, a motorcyclist in his thirties is critically ill in Dublin after he collided with a taxi. The crash happened on the Donnybrook Road at about 4am today. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either accident to contact them on 1800 666111.
