Protestors demand Pope accept resignation of Irish bishops

A small gathering of concerned Catholics appeared at the Residence of the Papal Nuncio in Dublin today, to protest at the Pope's refusal to accept the resignation of two Irish Bishops.
A letter for Pope Benedict outlining the "extensive hurt and outrage" caused by this refusal was given to a representative at the residence.
The letter accuses the Pope of undermining the authority of Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and of choosing to preserve church structures ahead of caring for those suffering from church abuses.
