Civil servants call temporary halt to action 6/24/2010 - 5:08:58 PM Lower paid public servants have called a temporary halt to their work-to-rule action over budget cuts. The Civil Public and Services Union has this evening confirmed it will reballot its membership on the Croke Park public pay and reform deal. The union, which had rejected the proposals in its original ballot, has taken this move following the ratification by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. The Croke Park Deal pledges no further pay cuts for four years, in return for wide-ranging reform. CPSU General Secretary Blair Horan said they felt it was necessary to look at the proposals again. |
