Silver medal for O'Rourke in Barcelona 7/31/2010 - 7:22:06 PM Derval O'Rourke has won a silver medal for Ireland in the women's 100m hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona. The 29-year-old Cork athlete clocked a time of 12.65 in tonight's final, a new Irish record and just two-hundreths of a second behind winner Nevin Yanit of Turkey. Germany's Carolin Nytra, previously the fastest in Europe this year, took the bronze with 12.68. O'Rourke's medal is the first for Ireland at these championships and follows her joint silver at Gothenburg four years ago.
